HERMAN REESSING, OF NFAV YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A JAR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,923, dated January 1, 1895.
Application filed November 9, 1894. Serial No. 528,353. Term of patent '7 years.
1'0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HERMAN REESSING, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Jars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which shows a side elevation of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists of a jar provided with a double bead extending around the neck, a bead extending around the base a short distance above the bottom of the jar, such base flaring outwardly from the bead to the bottom, and a single bead extending around thejar a short distance above the lower bead.
A is the body and B is the neck of the jar. The body of the jar is ciroularin contour and tapers gradually at its upper part toward the cylindrical neck.
The neck B is provided with a double bead I), while the base of the body is provided near the bottom with a single bead d, from which the baseportion of the body flares outwardly and downwardly to the bottom thereof. Above the single bead d and at a distance of about one-fourth of the height of the jar, is located a single bead c. The beads or bands which encircle the body and neck of the jar impart an ornamental and characteristic appearance to the jar.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a jar, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in pres ence of two subscribing witnesses.
HERMAN REESSING.
Witnesses:
PAUL GoEPEL, GEORGE W. JAEKEL.
