DESIGN FOR A FRUIT-JAR.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, REGINALD UoIcE CAL- CUTT,a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fruit-Jars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying d rawing, showing a part thereof.

The drawing shows a side elevation of a fruit jar possessing my design, the cover of which, in conjunction with the shape of the jar makes a very unique and pleasing appearance.

A represents the fruit-jar, the body of which is perfectly cylindrical from its bottom to its shoulders, and has its bottom and its shoul- -ders of the same diameter and its side walls between these points perfectly straight, excepting a circumferential bead surrounding its sides near its bottom, and a similar bead surrounding its sides near its shoulders. The

shoulders of the jar slope upward slightly, and the neck of said jar is less in diameter than the body part of the sa|ne,and the cover B, when used to close the jar, fits down over the neck so that its edges nearly touch the shoulders. The cylind rieal sides of the cover are provided near the top of the same with a convex milled portion or head I), the circumference of which does not exceed the circumference of the body of the jar. The design of the cover, as thus described, bears a close resemblance to the capital of a column, when upon the jar, and imparts a symmetrical and solid design to the complete jar.

\Vhat I claim is- The design for fruit jars, consisting of the design as herein shown and described.
