DESIGN FOR A CAN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,516, dated June 6, 1893. Application filed April 29, 1893- Serial No. 472,434- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM C. WINFIELD, a citizen of the United States, and a. resident of WVarren, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cans, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the drawing making part of this specification.
The design is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in a single perspective view of the can.
The can shown is distinguished chiefly by the appearance of the top which has wide dome shaped portion -arising from the narrow flat surface babout the base of the dome; the raised edge -catthe immediate edge of the can-the inner raised outer edge dwhere the border surface aterminates, the deep depression central in the top having flat surface g-, and a vertical wall -e about said depression terminating in the edge d, the flat surface ghaving holes or openings h and -k-, varying in size and oi? the center of the said depression. A dish shaped lid or cover for the inner part of the top is shown in raised position to reveal the appearance of the whole top.
