DESIGN FOR AN OIL-CAN.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,428, dated May 9, 1893.

Application filed April 5, 1893. Serial No. 469,210. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that LWILLIAM C. WiNFIELD, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of W'arren, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Oil-Cans, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the drawings making part of this specification.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of a can embodying my new design, and Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof.

A represents a cylindrical can with all the vertical side lines parallel from end to end of the can, and surmounted by a dome shaped top B. This dome shaped top or dome B starts substantially from the top edge of the can body and has a cylindrical crown b at its top center. A series of well defined flutes 0 start from the base of the dome and run in converging and gradually deepening lines up to about the crown b, where they are considerably narrower than at the base.

The design consists in the shape of the can and dome, and in the surface configuration of the dome with its flutes and central crown substantially as above described.

The design for a cover of an oil can ashorein described and shown.
