DESIGN FOR AN UPPER CHORD FOR CAR-TRUCKS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,471, dated May 23, 1893. Application filed February 4, 1893. Serial No. 461,070. T61Il1 of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN A. BRILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Top or Upper Chord for Car-Trucks, of which the following is a specification.
Reference is had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a elevation.
That part of the truck to which my design is applied is known as the top or upper chord upon which the car body generally rests. In Fig. 1 it will be seen that the chord is rectanpcrspective, and Fig. 2 a side gular in shape and comprises the longitudinal or side bars 1, and the cross uniting bars 2. Between the ends of the side bars 1 the chord is upset and provided with arched sections 3 which rise above the plane of the side bars. The union of the cross and side bars is rounded as at 4, Fig. 1.
