Description

D9532 OR D 229155 DESIGN.
D. P. HAYNES oovmmn DISH.
No. 22,155. Patented Jan. 24, 1893.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DAVID F. HAYNES, OF BALTIMORE, MARYLAND.
DESIGN FOR A COVERED DISH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,155, dated January 24, 1893.
Application filed December 29,1892. Serial No. 45 6,709- Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID F. HAYNES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baltimore, Maryland, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Covered Dish, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the drawings, forming a part hereof.
Referring to the said drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the covered dish, and Fig. 2 a top View of the same.
I describe the dish proper-as follows:-The general form of the body A as seen from its top, is an irregular octagon. The sides a a are longer than the ones I) b,and the ones 0 c are shorter than the sides b. The sides are all formed of hollow lines and the corners or angles are rounded. \Vhere the sides 0 join the other sides are slight depressions d. The body as seen from the side has a lip e at the upper edge. Below this lip the body falls in in a regular curve f, and is then bulged out so as to be in alignment with the lip. It then falls inward and is connected by a curve or fillet g to a slightly projecting beaded base B,
which corresponds Very nearly in configuration with the upper edge or lip 6, but smaller. The sides a a and b b have slightly projecting panels h.
(J C are the handles having suitable scroll work extending from the sides b. Around the body and on a line with the top of the panels is a narrow scroll i in relief. The lid D at its outer edge conforms in shape of outline with the base B and its sides are modifications of the sides of the body but reversed. The top of the lid is nearly flat, and has a handle E similar to those on the body, but smaller. The lid has scroli work in relief which extends entirely around it which corresponds in character with the scroll-work on the body.
I claim as my invention:-
The design for a covered dish as herein shown and described.
DAVID E. HAYNES.
