DESIGN FOR A CARRIAGE-LAM P.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,778, dated August 16, 1892.
Application filed February 11, 1892. Serial No. 421,111. Tenn of patent 7 years.
To (LZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, MAneUs L. DE Youns NEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carriage-Lamps; and I do hereby declare the following to be a fnll,clear,and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same,reference beinghad tothcaccompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon,which formapartofthis specification.
The accompanying drawings are deemed suificient to fully illustrate the design.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the newlydesigned carriage lamp, and Fig. 2 an enlarged plan of the top or upper portion.
The leading feature of the design consists in the novel shape of the lamp.
A indicates the body of the lamp, and l;
the upper part. The lower part of the body is cylindrical at u, with enlarged ornamental members I; at the top. Above said ornamental members the body is enlarged, as at 1'. The head or upper part of the lamp is starshapcd in plamtheradiating projections having downward curves terminating in depending whirls or ornamental drops f. Above the star-shaped portion the lamp is spherical or globular, or is headlike, as indicated at d.
\Vhat I claim as new is- The design for a carriage-lamp, substantially as shown and described.
