DESIGN FOR A PICTURE-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,626, dated June 21, 1892.
Application filed May 10, 1892. Serial No. 432,514. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that LTI-IOMAS \V. NORMAN, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a certain new and original Design for PictureFrames, of which the following is a specification.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, illustrating my invention.
The leading features of my design consist of the octagon form or configuration of the frame, the vertical sides being longer than the other angles, with raised figures on the outer surface of the frame.
In the drawing, a designates the vertical sides of the frame; b,the top and bottom, and c the corner angles. As is shown, the vertical sides a are considerably longer than the angles Z1 and c,
(l is the mat, and e the picture. The inner edges of the mat are of a form conforming to the form or configuration of the frame-that is, they are octagon in shape, with the verti cal sides of considerably greater length than the other angles.
f designates raised ornaments on the outer surface of the frame, the said ornaments in the present instance consisting of representations of bows and ends of ribbons, the bows being arranged on the corner angles 0, with short ends g extending inward over the mat, the other ends h extending from the bows on the corner angles and upon the sides a and top and bottom I).
What I claim is The design for a picture-frame, as herein shown and described.
