UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK SCHILLING, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO S. HIRSCH & COM PANY, OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,226, dated February 10, 1903.
Application filed August 16,1902. Serial No. 119,975- Term of patent '7 years.
To a whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I,FRANK SOHILLING, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for Bottles, of which the following is a specification,
. reference being had to the acoom panying drawings, forming part thereof, and wherein :0 like letters of reference indicate corresponding parts inboth views.
Figure l is an elevation of a botl le, showing my new design thereon. Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2 2, Fig. l.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a bottle having the plain side portion A and the ornamental neck and shoulder portions.
The neck of the bottle is encircled with an ornamental band extending entirely around the same. The band consists of short vertical ribs A, arranged in series. Between each series of ribs are positioned ornamentations B resembling, a St. Andrews cross. Below this band are a series of vertically-disposed ribs C. These ribs extend down over the shoulder of the bottle and gradually increase in size toward their lower ends. These ribs are arranged in series, and the middle rib of each series is split, aportion of itslength forming a smaller rib D, shorter than the ribs C. On opposite sides of the rib D are grooves E of the same length as the rib D. Between each series of ribs C are arranged Vertical raised ornamentations F. These ornamentations extend from the neck down over the shoulder of the bottle and increase slightly in width toward their lower ends. These ornamentations and the ribs C are of the same length and have their upper and lower ends 0 terminate, respectively, in horizontal planes. The ribs C, grooves E, and ornamentations F entirely surround the shoulder and lower portion of the neck. Beneath the lower ends of the ornamentations and ribs C is an annular rib G, and directly beneath this rib is an annular groove K.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is"
The ornamental design for a bottle substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
FRANK SCHILLING.
