lle it known that l, Ameno ll. lnlwlcn, a citizen of the United States. residing at ll1ila delphia, in the county of Philadelphia and 5 State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for Spoons and Similar Articles, ol' which the following isa specification, reference heing had to the accompanying photograph.
My design does not have reference to the particular shape of the spoon itself. but refers more particularly to the decoration or ornamention thereof, and is intended for a souvenir spoonappropriate to thecty of Philadelphia. The handle of the spoon is moreor less decorated about its edge with a scroll pattern, as shown. On the surfaces included within this scroll pattern are represen tations of buildings or views appropriate to the city handle is a representation of the public build- On the upper portion of the ings of that city. Below this` is a reprcsentation of the old `State House of Philadelphia, to which may he added the date ot' 1770" llelow this upon the handle is a representation of the pipe of peace and a quill pen, together with a scroll indicative ot' the Ienn treaty. L'pon the howl of the `spoon is a design representing American Indians viewing the landing of Columbus.
