ROBERT LEDING, OF WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR` SPOONS, FORKS, 860.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,339, dated November 18, 1890.
Application filed August 18, 1890.
To aZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT LEDING, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tashington, in the District of Columbia, have invented a new and original Design for Spoons; and I do hereby declare the following to bea full, clear, and exact description of the same.
The accompanying drawing represents `a plan View of the upper surface of my newlydesigned spoon.
The leading feature of my design consists in a representation of the Washington Monument, forming the main ornamentationof the spoon-handle, and surrounded by a Wreath or garland entwined along the monument, and a representation ofthe United States Capitol building, occupying the center of the bowl.
Referring to the drawing, A indicates the main body of the spoon'handle,having thereon the representation 'of the Vashington Monument and surrounded by the wreath or garland B.
Serial No. 362,340. Term of patent 7 years.
C is the spoon-bowl having in its center the representation of the Capitol building located between the ends or terminals of the garland.
AThe design for the entire spoon presents to the eye the general effect of the Washington Monument entwined by a decorative wreath or garland and surmounted by the Capitol building.
The design for the spoon-bowl represents the Capitol building itself as located between wreathed leaves extending along a portion of the edges of the bowl.
