lie it known that 1, \VINTHEOP L. .Lxcons, of the city of East Orange, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented a 5 new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invent-ion relates to a design to be 10 worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face I 5 view of a carpet showing my new design.
