No. 18,932. Patented Feb. 19, 1889 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LE ROY W. FAIRUIIILI), Oh NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A FLASK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,932, dated February 19, 1889.
Application filed January 21. 1 s rial No- 297,098. Term of patent 8% years To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known thatil, LEROY W. [*AIRCHILD, i a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New Yorlghm'e invented a new and origi- 1 nalDesign foraFlnsk, of which the following i is a Specification.
My invention consists of a design for a pocket-flask.
The accompanying photograph is a face or side View of a flask showing the design.
The design consists, first, in the shape or configuration of the body of the flask, and, I second, in the ornamentation thereof. As shown in the accompanying photograph, the body of the flask is wider near its top than at I its bottom, the two edges between these points being formed of two slight curves, which are 1 united at their meeting ends by a slight projeetion, which imparts to the outline or edges 1 of the body a curved and wave-like form. The shoulders or corners at top and bottom I are rounded, and the bottom is formedwith eurves and a central projection similar to that I 1 of the edges, as shown, thus giving to the body as a whole, when viewed from the face or side, an ornamental and pleasing appearance. The ornamentation consists of the representation of the head of afemale, the face being shown Illl what is usually termed a quartering view, and which is represented as being in the midst of a cluster of flowers, the latter appearing in a mass below the chin and extending up alongside of and partially behind the head, as clearly shown in the photograph.
The two features of outline and ornamentation together form a beautiful design for a flask.
What I claim is- The design for a flask, substantially as shown and described.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand hand in the presence of two witnesses.
LE ROY W. FAIRCHILD.
