To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, CATHARINE A. GRIs- WoLD, of the city of New York, county and State of NGWYOTlQ, and acitizen of the United States, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Ornamentation of Corsets, of which the following is afull, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming partof this specification.

lhe single figure in the drawing represents a corset in side elevation containing my new design.

The leading and special feature of my new design consists in a band or stripe extending on the corset-surface from the lower edge thereof upwardly to and somewhat beyond the waist-line of the corset, and thence with an edgewise bend upon itself returning to and across said waistline and downwardly to the said lower edge of the corset, together with a band or stripe extending on the corset-surface from the upper edge thereof downwardly to and somewhat beyond the waistrline of the corset, and thence with an edgewise bend upon itself returning to and across said waist-line and upwardly to the said upper edge of the corset, the described edgewisebent portions of the said respective bands or stripes being or lying alongside or adjacent to each other at and immediately above and below the waistline of the corset.

A represents a corset, which may be in the usual and ordinary form.

B represents a band or stripe extending on the corset-surface from the lower edge thereof upwardlyto and somewhat beyond the waistline of the corset, and thence with an edgewise bend upon itself, as shown at I), returning to and across said waist-line and downwardly to said lower edge of the corset.

The edgewise-bent portions b and b of the respective bands B and B lie upon the corsetsurface alongside or adj acent to each other at and immediately above and below the waistline of the corset.

What I claim is The design for the ornamentation of a corset herein described and shown, the same consisting in a band or stripe, B, extending on the corset A from the lower edge thereof upwardly to and somewhat beyond the waistline thereof, and thence with an edgewise bend, 1), upon itself returning to and across said waist-line and downwardly to said lower edge of the corset, together with a band or stripe, B, extending from the upper edge of the corset downwardly to and somewhat beyond the waistrline thereof, and thence with an edgewise bend, 1), upon itself returning to and across said waist-line and upwardly to the said upper edge of the corset, the bent portions 1) and b of said respective bands being alongside of or adjacent to each other at and immediately above and below the waistline of the corset.
