Be it known that I, .hnns L. Forsou, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the aceoinpanying photograph, which forms a part of the same. i

The invention relates to a drsign to he worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

The main feature of my design is the figure A, which is repented on thesurfnce of the ear- Term of patent It}, nun

pct, as shown. This figure is oval or elliptical in its general contour, with its sides indented, and with a projecting portion at the upper end bent down to one side. The figure is ornamented with small geomet ric forms arranged in, short upwardly and outwardly projecting bands, as clearly shown in the photograph. Any suitable groundwork may be employed.

The design for carpets, consisting of the design substantially as shown.
