DESIGN FOR A STATUE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,106, dated February 8, 1887.
Application filed November 16, 1886. Serial No. 2l9,097. Term of patcnti'yenrs.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, PAUL DUMONT, a resident of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for aStatue, of which the following is a. full, clear, and exact description, reference being made to the accompanying drawing, which represents a perspective view of my new design for a statue.
This invention relates to a new configuration of a statue.
The design consists in the representation of a female figure standing on the representation of the terrestrial globe, said globe bearing a ribbon or scroll for an inscription.
In the accompanying drawing, the letter A represents a. female figure with one arm outstretched and holding a torch, which stands upon a representation of the terrestrial globe 20 B, the said globe constituting the base of the statue, and having a convex lower side, as shown. The globe B has the ribbon or scroll C on its surface.
Having now described my design, what I claim is- 1. In a design for a statue, the representation of a female figure with one arm ontstretched and holding a torch, standing on a representation ofthecomplcte terrestrial globe, the globe forming the base of the statue, substnntially as shown.
2. In a design for a statue, the representation of a female figure standing on a representation of the terrestrial globe, the latter having on its surface a scroll or ribbon, snbstantially as shown.
