SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16.769, dated July 6, 1886.

Be it known that I, RICHARD PAUL HEM- MING, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, inthe County of Philadelphia. and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Rug; and I do herebydeelare that the photographie print accompanying this specification conveys to any one skilled in the art a clear understanding of the same, and is sucient to enable such persons to use my invention.

The leadingieatures of my design consist in a triple-panel center, the center panel in form of an oval, the end panels circular, having the appearance of being overlapped by the ends of the center oval panel. The center oval and end panels are ornamented by a oral representation, the whole surrounded by an ornamental border, as shown. The print shows only three-fourths of the Whole design. The end not shown is exactly like the end that is shown.

What I claim as my invention is- The design for a rug, consisting of a center panel in form of au oval having the appearance of overlapping the circular end panels, the panels ornamented by a fioral representation, the Whole surrounded by an ornamental border, as shown in the photographie print.
