DESIGN FOR THE ORNAMENTATION OF KNIFE-HANDLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 16,660, dated April 27, 1886.
Application filed March 29, 1886. Serial No. 197,046. Term ofpaienl 35 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, VVALLAUE N. KENYON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Birmingham, in the county of New Haven and 5 State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Ornamentntion of Knife and Fork Handles; and I do declare thel'ollowing to bee full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being IO had to the accompanying photographic illustration, forming a part thereof, showing a knifehaudle ornamented according to my new design.
The leading feature of my design consists of 15 raised figures on the knife-handle, representing conventionalizcd leaves, vines, flowers, &e., these raised figures covering more or less completely the surface of the handle in the manner shown by the illustration. Some of the leaves, a, are represented as having smooth 2o surfaces, while others, b, are rough, and the flowers c are six'petaled.
I claim- The design for the ornamentation of knife and other similar handles herein shown and 25 described, the same consisting of conventionalized vines, smooth and rough surfaced leaves, and petaled flowers.
