DESIGN FOR A VASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16.542. dated February 23. 1886. Application filed October 22, 1885. Serial No. 180,619. Term of patent 3i years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MARTIN W. CARR, of Somerville, in the county Middlesex, State of Massachusetts, haveinvented and produced a new and original Design for Vases, of which the following isa full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, and which shows the vase in isometrical perspective.
lhis design comprises three crossed standards, C C Gflwhich represent the stems of the cat-tail plant, and which are provided at their upper ends with cylindrical enlargements representing eat tail spikes. These standards cross each other at a point above the center of their 1ength,and stand approximately at equal distances apart, being divergent in opposite directions from their point of intersection D. A dish-shaped vase, A, is disposed centrally between the standards below their point of intersection, and chains 13 extend from points equidistant on the rim of said vase in converging lines to the point of intersection of the standards.
I claim The design for a vase herein shown and described, said design eonsisting of crossing standards representing stems of the eat-tail plant, said stems being divergent both upward and downward from their point of intersection, and provided at their upper ends with cylindrical enlargements representing cattail spikes,a vase disposed between said standards below their point of intersection, and chains converging from said vase to the point of inteisection.
