DESIGN.
0. A. SCHINDLER.
rosmG CHAIR. latented UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES A. SOHINDLER, \VEST HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A POSlNG-CHAIR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16.493, dated January 26, 1886.
App ication filed August 13, 1885. Serial No. 174,338. Term of patent 7 years.
'To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. SoHIND- LEE, of Vest Hoboken, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original design fora Posing-Chair for Photographers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration, making part of-this specification.
The design relates to a posing-chair for photographers; and it consists of a chair the back of which is higher at one end than at the other, the higher end being supported by a standard having an ornamental bracket or hanger and fan-shaped tassels depending therefrom. The legs of the seat-frame are connected by a gallery below the seat-frame, said gallery being formed of intertwining bands having ring-shaped openings.
The nature of my design is fully shown in the accompanying photograph, which shows a front View of my posing-chair for photographers.
A in the photograph represents the seat, and B the back, of my posing-chair for photographers. The back ishigher at one end than at the other, so as to decrease gradually in height from one end to the other. An ornamental standard, C, is arranged at the higher end of the back, the standard being provided at its upper end with a bracket or hanger, b, and a fan-shaped tassel, d, pending therefrom. A similar fan shaped tassel, e, is suspended from the lower covered end of the back B. The seat-frame D and legs E are connected by a gallery, F, that extends between the legs below the seatframe, said gallery being formed ofintertwiningbandshavingring-shaped openings, by which a light and graceful character is imparted to the seat-frame. The front legs, E, are made of ornamental shape and the hind legs plain.
Having thus described my design, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a photographers posingchair, composed of a sloping back, higher at one end than at the other, a standard at the higher end, a bracket at the upper end'ofthe standard, a fan-shaped tassel depending from said bracket, a fanshaped tassel depending from the lower end of the back, and a gallery connecting the legs of the seat-frame, as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed it this 31st day
