DESIGN Fo'R AN EAR-RING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,859, dated March 4, 1884.
Application filed November 21, 1883. Term of patent! years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHX B. VAN HOUTEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Ear-Rings; and I do here by declare the following to bea full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of -reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figures 1 and 2 are front and side elevations, respectively, of my newly designed ear-ring and pendant, which it is thought illustrate said design with sufficient clearness.
The leading feature of this design is in the pendant, in which the body a resembles very closely a horseshoe, and is encircled near the :0
center by a band, b, leaving the end at the bottom and the two ends at the top exposed. At the sides and bottom of the body a are small bell-shaped pendants c, and in front, below the band b, is an ornament, d.
\Vhat I claim is The design for an ear-ring herein shown and described, having a pendant of the form of a horseshoe, and encircled by a band at or near the center. leaving the top ends and the bottom end exposed, as set forth.
