SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,014, dated July 3, 1883.
Application filed April 19, 1883. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that I, WIL LAM R. BASSETT, of the city and State of New York, have invented a. certain D esign for Upholstery-Fringe, of which the following is a specification.
The design of this fringe is represented in the accompanying drawing.
I employ cords a b, with intermediate tufted strip, a, and smaller interlacing cords, d, as represented. lhe pendants of the fringe are composed of the chenille or tufted balls e, molds f, tapering chenille bodies 9, mold h, and bottom tuft, i. The chenille is either cut or uncut.
This design is highly ornamental and artistic in appearance. as mottled, but this is not essential to the design; and the covering bands o of the molds f are also represented as mottled and glittering, but these bands may be plain.
The chenille is represented This design is to be distinguished from the fringe heretofore made, in which there are worsted tassels with the fibers looped at the head and hang down loosely, in place of the chenille drops, the artistic appearance of the latter being difi'erent from the worsted.
- I claim as my invention- The design of the ornamental fringe, consisting in the head-piece, with cords all, intermediate tufted strip, 0, pendants with balls 0, molds f, tapering chenille bodies 9, and bottom ornament-s. h i, and shown.
Signed by me this 30. day of April, A. D. 1883.
