SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,018, dated June 27, 1882.
Application filed May 8, 1882.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS RAPPLEYEA and Lao STEIN, both of Rochester, Monroe county, New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Floral Pedestals, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying photographic illustration, which shows a perspective view of the pedestal.
This design relates to pedestals or supports for holding flowers and floral otl'eriugs at funerals, &c.
The design consists of a tall molded or headed column with central moldings ofornamental form, and tufted surfaces above and below the central moldings, wherebya highly ornamental and pleasing effect is produced.
In the illustration, in is the plinth; b, the moldings at the bottom of the column. 0 is the abacus, and (I the moldings at the top of the column. fare ornamental moldings in the center of the column, and r r are two tufted surfaces covering the cylindrical portions of Term of patent '7 years.
the column above and below the central moldings.
By the means above described the tall pedestal presents the appearance of a double column, one above the other, and produces a highly-ornarnental effect, the two tufted sun faces relieving the monotony of the long cylindrical portions of the column.
XVhat we claim as new is The design for a floral pedestal, consisting of a beaded column with moldings in the center of the column and tufted surfaces above and below the central moldings, as shown and described.
In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
