DESIGN FOR A TOY FOR EXPLODlNG CAPS AND FULMINATES.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,733, dated February '7, 1882.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES Consrnn, J r.,

of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairlield and.

State of Connecticut, have originated a new Design for a Toy for Exploding Caps and Fulminates, ot which the following is a specification.

My design relates to toys for exploding paper and other caps and fulminates.

The design consists in making the handpiecc in the form of a fire-arm and the cap or t'ulminate receptacle in the form of a figure having a resemblance to a human being, substantially as hereinafter set. forth.

The design further consists in making the hand-piece in the form of a fire-arm and a ham mer in the form ot' part ot' a figure having a resemblance to a human being, substantially as hereinafter set forth.

The design further consists in making the hand-piece in the form ot' a tire-arm, the cap or fulminate receptacle in the form of agure having a resemblance to a human being, and the hammer in the form of part of a figure having a resemblance to a human being, substantially as hereinafter set forth.

The accompanying drawing represents a side view of a toy for exploding caps and fulminates embodying my design.

A designates a handpiece made iu the form of a fire-arm.

B designates a cap or fulminate receptacle made in the form of a iigure resembling a human being, and mounted on the topof the barrellike portion of the hand-piece. Itis made in the form of a Chinaman walking or running along the said barrel-like portion of the hand-piece. The cap or fulminate receptacle is located at the portion b, which represents the mouth of the Chinaman, and the movable part is made in the form of his lower jaw, so that when it operates to explode the caps or fulminates it will have the appearanceof biting the same.

C designates the hammer. It forms part oi' a figure resembling alinman being. The tigure shown represents an Irishman, and the hammer is made in the-form of a leg, c, which operates with a kicking movement. The other leg, c', of the Irishman forms his support. and is erected on the barrel-like portion of the hand-piece. A catch, a, controls the operation ofthe kicking leg c of' the Irishman, and is made in the form of a trigger, and occupies the position of an ordinary trigger with relation to the hand-piece A.

My design imparts to a toy for exploding caps and fulminates a very ludicrous appearance, and makes the toy a source of great amusementto children using it.

What I claim as my design, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The design for the hand-piece and cap or fulminate receptacle of a toy for exploding caps and fulminates, substantially as set forth.

2. The design for the hand-piece and hammer of a toy for exploding caps and fulminates, substantially as set forth.

3. The design for hand-piece, cap or fulminate receptacle, and hammer of a my for ex ploding caps and fulmiuates, substantially as set; forth.
