DESIGN FOR A SHOE OR GLOVE CLASP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,382, dated August 2, 1881.
Application filed luly l, 1881.
To all whom it may concern:
e it known that I, FRANK J. IIEERICK, a citizen oi' the United States, residing at New ritain, in the county ol' Ilartlord and State of Connecticut. have invented and produced a new and original Design tor Shoe or Glove Clasp, of which the following is a specitication, reference being had to the accompanying dra wings, forming part thereol'.

The part C has a crescent-shaped piece, a, connected to it by a narrow neck, which piece a will show only upon thc opposite side ofthe leather or fabric when the plates are secured thereto. The two sides and end opposite that to which the lever A is hung have grooves near the edge, which, with the grooves by the side of' the V-shaped opening, i'orm triangular figures, each of which are ornainented by a row of circular depressions and sunken circle, similar to those on plate C. A crescent-shaped piece. a', like that on C, is also formed at the end ot' B.
I claim- 1. The design for a shoe or glove clasp here in shown and described, the same consisting of the bordergroovc, oblique grooves crossing each other on the face ofthe lever A, and the circular ornaments in the diamond and half-diamond shaped figures formed by said grooves.
2. The design for a shoe or glove clasp herein shown and described, the same consisting ofthe plate B, having the V-shaped opening, the bordering-grooves which inclosc triangular-shaped spaces on each side thereof', and the rows of circular ornaments.
3. The design for a shoe or glove clasp herein shown and described, the same consisting of the plate C, having eye b, the central ornamental opening, the border-groove, and the rows of circular ornaments upon the sides of the central opening.
4. The design fora shoe or glove clasp herein shown and described, the same consisting of the lever and two plates having ornamental faces, and the crescent-shaped pieces a a' at the ends of the plates B C.
