Be it known that I, JULIAN E. CAREY, of Plainfield, in the county of Union and State of New Jersey, have invented anew and original Design for the Ornamentation of Cloth, of which the following is a specification.
The accompanying drawing represents a face view of my new design.
This design relates to a new ornamentation for cloth by means of depressed grooves or furrows. The cloth is ornamented by a series of parallel waved lines between two series of parallel straight lines, forming a stripe in alternation with rows of short diagonal lines.
In the drawing, A represents a piece of cloth ornamented with my new design.
B is a stripe composed of two series of parallel straight lines, I; b and b b, and one series of parallel waved lines, (1 d.
posed of two series of short lines, o c c, &c., parallel to each other and diagonal to the stripe B, arranged in rows, substantially as shown in the accompanying drawing.
1 claim- 7 The design for ornamenting cloth, consisting of the parallel stripes B and O, the stripe B being composed of parallel straight lines b b and of parallel waved lines at d, and the stripe O of the series of short diagonal lines 0 0 arranged in rows, substantially as shown.
