Application filed June 9, 1880. Term ol'patentlyears.
To all zbhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD L. Mourns, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have originated and designed a Pattern for Inkstands, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a side elevation, and Fig. 2 a horizontal section on line .10 a", Fig. 1, showing a top view of my design.
A represents a hollow base containing an ink-well, B. E is a miniature weltcurb surmounting the base. G O representan old-fashioned well-sweep and post in miniature, sm' mounting the base. I) is a bucket hanging from the well-sweep and containing a sponge, which aids to complete the resemblance to the moss-covered bucket which hung in the well. An opening, H, through the top of the base under the well-curb E imitates the mouth of a Well. The top of the ink-well 15 or a collar surrounding the top is decorated to imitate a tub or cask set in the ground.
F F are pen-racks upon the sides of the base A, and G G (shown in Fig. 2) are pen-grooves upon the top of the base A.
hat 1 claim is- 1. A design for an inkstand, consisting of a base, A, surmounted by a miniature wellcurb, E.
2. A design for an inkstand, consisting of a base, A, surmounted by a miniature well-curb, E, and miniature wcllsweep, post, and bucket G G D.
