Io all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, HENRY HORAN, of East )rang-e, in the county ot' Essex and State of ew Jersey, have invented a new and origin al Design for a Carpet, of which the following is t specification.
The accompanyiu g photograph illustrates my iew design.
This invention relates to a new design for carpets, oil-c1oths,and analogous fabrics; and lfonsists in the novel grouping and configuraion of figures hereinafter more fully pointed iut.
A A are L-sllaped tigures, and B B rectangular figures placed at certain distances apart md in diagonal rows upon the background of yhe carpet. Ornamental stripes a, b, and d tre arranged between said figures, as shown. Che gures A have a checkered background. ieh bouquets of owers are represen ted withn the figures B. Other flowers embellish the igures A A and the remainder of the background and connect the several igures on the iackground. The border of the carpet contains parts of the igures A, and also the gures B, as shown.
I claim- 1. The design for a carpet, consisting 0f the figure A, figure B, and intermediate figure a, substantially as shown.
2. The design for a carpet, consisting ofthe figure A, gure B, intermediate figure d, and connecting tloral ornaments, substantially as shown.
3. The design for a carpet, consisting of the figure A, iignre B, intermediate figure b, and connecting floral ornaments, substantially as shown.
4. The design for acarpet, consisting of the gures A B and stripes a b d, substantially as shown.
