DESIGN FOR PEDESTAL AND FRONT OF A CLOCK.
Specification forming part of Design No. 11,020, datcdFcbrnary 11, 1879; application filed January 18, 1879.
[Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY R. FRISBIE, of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented anew and original Design for the Pedestal and Front of a Clock, of which the following is a description:
The general form of the front is that of a fiat plate having a peaked or angular top, A, straight sides B, an inverted arched bottom, (3, and pendants D at each of the lower corners. The peaked or angular top is ornamented with a projecting molding or cornice, a, decorated with Moresque ornaments; and from each of the upper corners, which are flat at the base of the peak, project foil ornaments 1). Above the clock-face is a relief ornament, 0, and on each side of the said ornament are spandrels or panels (I. In each upper corner are relief ornaments 0. The sides B are chamfered, and ornamented with relief panels f.
The pedestal consists of a circular portion, E, forming a base, and a polygonal portion, F, forming a shaft. The base is decorated with a series of dogtooth ornaments, g, and upon the front face of the polygonal portion is an ornament, h, and upon the adjacent faces are ornaments i i.
I claim 1 1. The design for a clock-front, comprising the peaked top A, the straight sides B, the
inverted arched bottom G, and pendants D, substantially as herein described, and as illustrated in the accompanying photographic illustrations.
