DESIGN Fon WALL-PAPER.
Specification forming part of Design No. 11,00] dated January 28, 1879; application led December 23, i878. [Term of patent 3% years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN HERTER, o f` the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Wall- Paper, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration, making part of this specification, and which fully represents my invention.
This invention relates to an ornamental border for wall papers; and consists ot' a larger portion, A, which is bounded by ornamental bands a and b, and of a narrower por tion, B. In the larger portion Aare arranged ribbons and festoons d, which are suspended from rosettes c, near the upper band, b. From the middle part of the festoons cl are suspended, by ribbons, oblong framesf, which :we provided with ornamental borders and interior decorations formed of conventional animals and plants. oblong panels f are suspended, directly from the rosettes, the narrower oblong panels g, which are formed of similar ornamental borders and interior conventional fillings. The narrower portion B is coniposed of two outer bands, h, having interior alternating spurs or Intermediately between thev beads, facing each other, and of a wider baud, t', which is bounded by parallel lines at cach side, and on which are arranged, at suitable intervals, rosette-shaped conventional flowers, which are connected, by undulating vines and shoots, with smaller ilowers, leaves, and buds.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters 1 atent, is-
1. The design for a wallpaper border, consisting of suspended festoons and ot oblong,r frames, which are provided with ornamental fillings, and suspended alternately from the middle portion and ends of the festoons, as shown and described.
2. The design for a wallpaper border, consisting of exterior ornamental bands, and ot' an interior band provided with rosette-shaped flowers and conventional connect-ing vines, as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed it this 19th day ot' December, 1878.
