Be it known that 1, WM. TW'EEDDALE, a resident of Brooklyn, Kings county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for a Vase, of which the following is a specification:
My design for a vase is fully represented in the ae'oompanyin g printed engraving, to which reference is made.
The upper portion A of the basin is made considerably smaller in diameter than the bottom portion B, and is of concave form from top to bottom, with an oval rib or bead, C, below the plain angular top rib D, and above two similar ribs, E, forming the top finish; and at the bottom of the concave portion it joins the top of part B by a narrow plain cylindrical portion, F. The lower part B is of c nvex form and larger size than the upper part A.
The sides of the concave portion of the basin are ornamented with the flowering-plant figure G, having the center stalk H and branch stalks I, and each of the latter having a flower, J, and acone tip, K. The lower part B of the basin is ornamented with the leaves L and flowers M.
The standard which supports the basin has an enlarged collar or band, ornamented with the scroll-wreath P and the flowers Q. The
handles are ornamented with the rams head R, flowering pendant S, leaves T, flowering stalk U, flowers V, and the leaf and scroll shaped crown W.
What I claim as my design is- 1. The concave upper and convex lower portion, ornamented with the oval bead 0, upper and lower plain angular ribs 1) E, and the cylindrical form F, as described and shown.
2. The sides of the concave portion of the basin, ornamented with the flowering plant G, having the center stalk H and branch stalk I, flower J, and cone tip K, as described and shown.
3. The standard ornamented with the figure-heads N and rosettes O, as described and shown.
4. The base of the standard, ornamented with the scroll band P and flowers Q, as described and shown.
5. The handles ornamented with the rains head R, with floral pendant S, and scroll and leaf shaped crown W, as described and shown.
6. The handles ornamented with the leaves T, flowering stalk U, and flowers V, as described and-shown.
