Description

OR D1005O5 March 5, 1878 UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIoE.
TRUMAN Ill. BARTLETTIT, OF BOSTON, MASSAGIIUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO EDVVARI) MILLER 85 00., OF WEST MEHDEN, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A STATUETTE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10.505, dated March 5,1878; application filed April 12,1877. [Term of patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, TRUMAN H. BARTLETT, of Boston, in the county of Sufl'olk and State of Massachusetts, temporarily residing at Port Marly, France, have invented a new Design for Statuette, and I do hereby declare the fol lowing, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent a side view.
This invention relates to a design for statuettes and it consists in the representation of Washington seated in a chair on a base, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
The chair rests upon a base, and beneath the chair, on the base, are books and a sword. In the chair the figure is seated, one arm resting on the arm of the chair, the other hand on a table by his side, with one leg resting upon the knee of the other, all as shown in the accompan yin g illustration.
The books and drapery may also be changed or removed, it only being essential to this dc sign that there be the figure shown in the accompanying illustration, and a chair of some character.
I do not broadly claim a design representing \Vashington as seated in a chair, as such I am aware is not new; but I am not aware of the figure having all parts disposed as shown in the accompanying illustration, and to which this design is limited.
I claim- The herein described design for statuette, representing \Vashington seated in a chair, legs crossed, and arms resting on the arms of the chair, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
TRUMAN H. BARTLETT.
