VINIPROVEED SPLINT FOR FRAGTURE 0F CLAVICLE, 8:0.
The Schedule referred to in. these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To allrwhoml it may concern Be it known that I, HAYNEs L. RICHARDSON, of the city of New York, iu the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Splnts, for Fractures of the Clavicle, Humerns, and Scapula; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the ait to understand and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification,

My improvement consists in constructing 4a splint in two principal parts, made 'of someexible; but moderately stiff materiallike`.leather, coveringa paste-` board foundation, hard rubber,or papier-mache. lThe larger one of the parts is asemtc'ylindi'ioal piece, fitted uponv the side of the person, below the armpitand `the smaller one is also a semi-cylindrical piece, tted to the arm, as shown clearly in iig. 1. Besides these main pieces forming the splint, there is also a crescentshaped pad attached to them, which is fitted under the arm. ,This steadies and assists in keeping the splint in place.
