R. REISS. v 9 KEY LOOKING DEVIQE. APPLIOATION FILED JULY 9, 1910.

RUDOLF REISS, OF VIENNA, AUSTRIA-HUNGARY.
KEY-LOCKING DEVICE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
995,094. Patented June 13, 1911.
Application filed July 9, 1910. Serial No. 571,171.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RUDoLF Rniss, subject of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor, and resident of 6 Margarethenplatz, Vienna, V, Austria-Hungary, have invented a Key- Locking Device, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a keylocking-device, in which the key is locked by means of a bolt and has for its object the arrangement, that the bolt, guided on the inner side of the key-plate, can be pushed into a hole provided on the key, thereby preventing the same, from turning as well as from being pushed out of the key-hole.
In order that the invention may be thoroughly understood, I have illustrated in the drawing an example of same and in said drawings Figure 1 is a front view of the key-plate constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a back-view of the same. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view through the axis of the key. Fig. 4 shows a key in elevation and Fig. 5 a horizontal cross-section.
The locking of the key is effected by means of a bolt 0, which is slidably arranged by guide-pieces Z) on the inner side of the inner key-plate a; and which is provided at its lower end with a tongue f preferably of circular section. On the upper end of the bolt a handle-piece cl is provided, which is sliding within a vertical slot 6 of the keykey, which hole preferably does not penea trate the shank of the key. This tongue f when entering the hole 9 will fix the key in such a way, that the same can neither be turned nor pushed out of the key-hole.
By the hidden arrangement of the different parts these are protected against any injury. To push the bolt upward from the outside of the door is impossible, as the key itself by its being in the keyhole prevents the introduction of any means for effecting said pushing upward.
Having now fully disclosed my invent-ion, I claim:
A key-loeking-device comprising in comkcy hole and a slot therein, a key locking bar provided with a tongue-like lower end and disposed on the inside face of said plate, guiding straps secured to said inside face to guide said bar, a knob secured to the upper end of said bar and at right angles thereto, and projecting through said slot and a key having a ward and a shank, said shank being of normal cross-section and provided with a socket extending transversely but not wholly therethrough, and adapted to receive said tongue-like end, said socket being disposed with respect to said ward as to hold the same out of registry with said keyhole when engaged by said tongue-like end.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
plate. RUDOLF REISS.
By pushing the handle-piece (Z down- Witnesses: wardly, the bolt 0 is moved and the tOIlgue f ALFRED BERAN,
will enter into a hole 9 on the shank of the AUGUST FUGGER.
