Specification forming'part of Letters Patent No. 186,450, dated January 23, 1877; application filed i September 28, 1876.

' To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, AMOS S. BLAKE, of Waterbury, in the county of New Haven and State 0t Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Locks, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawing, in

The object of my invention is to furnish a, lock-case, the cap or cover-plate of which acts shown in Figs. 1 and 3.

The outer end of the bolt is hook-shaped,

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The combination, with the main plate of the lock-case and the bolt, of the spring coverplate B, provided with hooked ends and bearing upon the bolt to hold it in position, substantially as shown and described.
