UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
KARL MANTEY, 0F EUSTIS, FLORIDA.
CABINET.
Application filed September 20, 1910.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, KARL MAN'rnY, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Eustis, in the county of Lake and State of Florida, have invented a new and Improved Cabinet, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
An object of the invention is to provide a cabinet, adapted to contain articles such as embroidery or the like, and the said articles being so disposed in the cabinet as to be easily removable therefrom.
For the purpose mentioned, use is made of a casing having removably disposed therein a plurality of drawers provided with revoluble means, for containing embroidery and adapted to be revolved when the drawers are withdrawn from the casing, and the bottoms of the said drawers being Substantially hinged, to permit of revolving the revoluble means when the drawers are in open position.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specilication, in which similar' characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my cabinet. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view of one of the drawers and showing the same in closed position. Fig. 3 is a fragmentary sectional view showing the means for removably locking the bottom to the drawer. Fig. 4c is a fragmentary sectional View showing the means for limiting the horizontal movement of the drawers. Fig. 5 is a partial vertical section 0f my cabinet, showing one of the drawers withdrawn from the casing and the reel thereof in operative or revoluble position and Fig. 6 is a sectional view taken on the line 6-6 in Fig. 2.
Referring more particularly to the various drawings, I provide a casing 10 mounted on suitable supports 11 and provided with a plurality of drawers 12 slidably disposed in the casing 10 and adapted to be withdrawn therefrom by means of handles 13 secured to the drawers 12. On the inner sides of the casing 10 are secured spaced parallel strips 14, provided with notches 15, and mounted on the drawers 12 are stop lugs 16 adapted to engage the notches 15 Specification of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 582,818.
when the drawers are withdrawn from the casing to prevent the drawers from entirely leaving the easing.
In each of the drawers 12 is disposed a reel 17, pivotally mounted on the drawer and adapted to hold embroidery 18 or the like. Beneath the reel 17 is the bottom 19 of the drawer, and the said bottom is hingedly secured at one end of the drawer so that when the drawer is open or withdrawn from the casing, the bottom will swing downward and hang vertically, thus permitting the operator to revolve the reel 17 and wind or unwind therefrom. In order to secure the bottom 19, a button 20 engaging a spring 21 contacting, with the bottom 19, is provided, and when the button 20 is pressed it actuates the spring 21 to release the bottom.
My cabinet as described protects the embroidery from dust, and in order that the drawers should not be too frequently opened, an end 22 of the embroidery 18 is adapted to extend through a space 23 between the drawers and casing, so that the particular kind of embroidery in each drawer can be easily seen without withdrawing the drawer from the casing.
It will be understood that, although for the purpose of' describing my invention I have shown a particular construction, the scope of my device is defined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. A cabinet, comprising a casing, a plurality of drawers removably disposed in the asing and provided with hinged bottoms, and revoluble means mounted in the drawers and adapted to be revolved when the drawers are withdrawn from the casing.
2. A cabinet for embroidery and the like, comprising a casing, a plurality of drawers slidably disposed in the easing with a space between the outer edge of the drawers and easing, reels mounted in the drawers and adapted to hold embroidery with an end of the embroidery passed through the said space between the drawers and casing, hinged bottoms on the drawers and adapted to swing thereon when the drawers are withdrawn from the easing so that the reels name to this specification in the presence of can hey revolved, means on the drawers and two subscribing witnesses.
ada ted to en a e the Casin to limit the outwgard Inovegmnt of the gdrawers, and KARL MANTEY' means on the drawers for releasablysecur- Witnesses: ing the bottoms to the drawers. B. D. VAN VORMER,
In testimony whereof I have signed my S. L. STORY.
