The cover- Be it known that I, ARNOLD ScHoBER, a citizen of the United States, residing Beloit, in the county of Rock and State of IVisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Holders for Loose Leaves, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a novel form of book, upon the leaves of which may be printed music, in combination with novel means for securing the book to a suitable instrument, and means for protecting the book when in use from the rain and wind.

An important object of this invention is to provide a book of the above character, having leaves which are readily removable, in combination with supporting means for the book which hold said leaves in said book.

A further object of this invention is to provide a book of the above character, having pockets formed of transparent material, so that sheets of music may be carried there- V leaves 1 and 2 are to possess a desired stiffness and may be formed of any suitable material.

The device further comprises a plurality of loose leaves 8 and 8a, upon which may be printed the desired music. The leaf 8 has a stub 9 suitably secured to its upper ends, as shown in Fig. 4. This stub is formed of suitably stout material and is provided with spaced openings 10 which result in the formation of spaced strips 11 said openings 10 and strips 11 being adapted to register respectively with the openings 6 and strips 7 of the stub-section 5. In the drawings, wherein is illustrated a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numerals l and 2 designate cover-leaves of the book, which are hinged together b means of a suitable section of material 8 for added, as the case may be. The bracket 1G is provided centrally of its lower horizontal portion, with a substantially ii-shaped portion 18, adapted for insertion within semicyliiidrical arms 19 o'l a il-shaped socketmember 20. This socket-inember further comprises a cylindrical body portion 21, the lower end of which is provided with diaiiietrically arranged recesses 22. A pin 23 is provided having rigid engagement with a desired musical instrument, and adapted for insertion within the body portion 2l. This pin 23 is provided with a transverse pin Q5 extending diainetrically through l the same 'for insertion within the recesses 22.

From the description ot the above referred to parts, it is obvious that the bracket IG may be readily removed 'trom the socket 20, and that said socket may be rotated on the pin Q3 and locked against accidental displacement by virtue of the pin 25 fitting within the recesses In order that the book may be used in the rain and wind without being damaged, I provide a hood 2G, which has substantially the shape ot an envelop. I wish it understood that the form ot my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example oi' the same, and that certain changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope ot the subjoined claims.
