Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 30, 1910.

Be it known that I, HANNAH A. STEIN- ME 2, a citizen of the United States, residing at Denver, in the county of Denver and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Folding Screens; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in folding screens for use in covering cribs, hammocks, etc., and com prises a simple and efficient device of this nature which, when not in use, may be folded into a compact form.
My invention comprises various details of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
I illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved screen. Fig. 2 is a sectional view on line 2-2 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a detail perspective of one corner of the same.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates the top of one section of the screen, it being understood that the screen proper is made up of two complemental screens hinged together at C, the two sections, when opened for use, forming a rectangular outlined closure. The sides I) have openings which are covered by screening D and the top A a screen covering B and the ends a similar screening and each end piece has projecting portions F which are apertured. Plates E are fastened to the opposite longitudinal edges of the side sections and each plate has a laterally projecting part which is apertured, each aperture receiving a pin E which also passes through an aperture in The upper and lower marginal edges of the end pieces are recessed away, as shown clearly in Figs. 1 r and 3 of the drawings, in order to allow the outer faces of the plates to be flush with the longitudinal edges of said top and bottom.
IV hen the screen is Figs. 1 and 8 of the drawings, the crosspieces G of the ends G bear against the ends of the sides D and the lugs F project beyond the outer faces of said sides. A hook H is fastened to each end and engagean eye H which projects from a side of the casing, thereby holding the various parts together.
When the device is adjusted for use as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings, it will be 6 noted that the same may be placed over a cot, bed or other object which it is desired to have screened and, when not in use, owing to the hinged arrangement, the parts may be folded into a compact form, the end pieces folding back between the brackets E, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 8 of the drawings.
What I claim to be new is A folding screen made up of two complemental skeleton frames with screen covered openings in the Walls and top thereof, the adjacent tops of the two sections hinged together and their bottoms and adjacent ends open, the sides being hinged to the tops, 8
plates fastened to the opposite longitudinal edges of the side sections and having laterally projecting portions which are apertured, pins mounted in said apertures, each end section having laterally projecting parts which are apertured to receive said pins and recessed to receive said plates, each end adapted to swing between the plates.
