4 a subject of the King of Italy, anda resident of the city of New York,.borough of Manhattan, in they countyand State of New York, have invented a new and Improved- Garment-Hanger, of which the following is a full, clear, vand exact description.-

My' invention relates to garment hangers, my more particular purpose being toV provide a composite. garment' hanger having compartments for holdingmaterial for destroying or driving away moths and 'other vermin. a

My invention further contemplates the addition. to a garment hanger of a longitudinal member provided with graduations and `with clips movable relatively to the graduations in order to adapt the device for.. use upon garments of various kinds and of dilierent sizes.

My invention'. also comprehends various detailsin construction, useful rfor garment hangers generally.

The slides 16 are providedrespectively with nail holes 16a for the use of the operator in moving the slides in order to open the compartments.

Mounted upon the outer ends of the shoulderpieces 5 are plates 19 and adjacent to the latter are slots 20. Two bar s 21,'22, nearly alike, are pivotally connected to the-'plates 19, aswill be understood from Fig. 2. These rods, when connected together as hereinafter described, virtually constitute a single con tinuous horizontal bar. Mounted upon this bar are slide rings 23 carrying clips 24 and hooks 25. By turning the slide rings, either the clips 24 or the hooks 25, as desired, may

A; pin 28 extendsdiametrically through the tubular portion v26 and the reduced portion 27 as will be understood from Fig. 4. A sleeve 29 is threaded interlnally for a partof its length and this thread- -ed portion 1s -Iitted upon a tubular threaded portion 26. By turning the sleeve 29 it may be moved horizontally along the general d1- rection ,of-the rods 21, 22 until it covers the ar, as a whole, comparatively rigid.

The bar is provided with 'graduations which are useful in determining the positions which should be 'occupied by the4 slide. rings 23 and clips 24 or hooks 25 carried by 'these slide rings. This arrangement is desirable in order to adjust the device for garments of different kinds, such, for instance, as different varieties or sizes 'of trousers. ...claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent.:

1. means including a fastening member common to all of said slides for normally preventing the removal of the latter.
