ovEnALLs,
assess Application filed November 3, 1910. Serial No. 590,473.
To all whom time concern:
Be it known that l, ARTHUR lilnonssnn, a citizen of the United States, and a. resident of San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have inventednew and improved Overalls, of which the following is a. full, clear, and exact description.
"The invention relates to wearing apparel, and its ob ect is to provide new and improvcd (weralls designed for the use of carpenters and other mechanics and provided with a nail p =uch capable of swinging freely andlo hang vertically with a view to prevent the nails from falling out of the pouch when the nearer of theovcit'alls 1S nailing and assumes a steeping position, means be ing provided to hold the pouch close to the body and against swinging, to prevent the pouch from interfering with the free use of the hands of the w arer} when the latter is sawing or performing similar operations. For the purpose mentioned the pouch is attached, by sewing or otherwise, along its upper edge, to the body of the overalls at the front thereof, and fastening means such as tabs and buttons are provided for fastening the free end of the pouch to the body of the overalls. I
A practical embodiment of the invention .ed in the accompanying drawings forming which siinil 1r charactersof-reference incirate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the overalls as applied to a person in stooping position and showing the pouch. in free-swing ing position; Fig. 2 is a like view of the same and showingthe wearer of the overalls in erect position and the pouch fastened in place to hold the same against swinging and to lie close to thebody and Fig. 3 is an enlarged cross section of the overalls on the line 3-3 ofFig. 2, with thotab detached from its button. v
The body A of the overalls is of any approved construction, and on the front thereof is arranged a nail pouch l3, fastened along itsv upper edge by stitches C, or other fastening means, to the body A approximately at or near the waistband A, as plainly indicated in the drawings. The pouch B is preferably of a width to accom- Specification of Letters Patent.

niodate two main rear pockets B arranged side by side, and a pair of small front pockets B likewise arranged one alongside the other at the front of the main pockets B. The several pockets are adapted to'contain an assortment of nails, screws or the like. By the arrangement dcscribed, the pouch 1% depends from the body A and is free to swing into a vertical position on the wearer of theoveralls assuming a steeping position when nailing or performing similar work, so that the contents of the pockets l5 and B of the pouch B are not liable to fall. out, as will borcadily unde ,ood by reference to Fig. 1
in case the user of the overalls has to perform sawing or similar operations usually carried on in an erectposition (see Fig. 2), it is desirable that the pouch B lie close to the body Ase as not to interfere with the In order to hold the pouch in this position. and to prevent it. from swinging, use is inade of fastening devices for connecting the free end of the pouch with the body A. the fastening devices being preferably in the form of tabs 1) secured to the pouch B and projecting from the sides thereof at'or near'thc free end. ofthe much. The tabs are provided with button roles D adapted to engage buttons E held on the body A; hen the tabs 1) engage the buttons E the pouch B is held close to the body and against swinging so that the pouch is not liable to interfere with the free use of the hands of the wearer of the overalls when the wearer perforinssawing or similar operations.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent: a
1. Overalls having a body, a pouch secured along its upper cdge to the said body at the front thereof to allow the'pouch to swing freely on the wearer of the overalls assun iing a stooping position, and detachable fastening means for detachably fastening the free end of the pouch to the said body to hold the pouch close to the body and to. prevent .it from swinging.
2. Overalls having a body, a pouch secured along its upper edge to the said body at the front thereofvand having its lower end free to allow the pouch to swing'freely on the \Yeui'ei' of the overalls assuming a steeping In testimony whereof I have signed my pCSlUOIl, and fastening tubs havlng huttonname to this specification 111 the presence of holes and attached to the pouch to project two subscribing witnesses. from the sides of the pouch near the free ARTHUR ELOESSER.
end thereof, and buttons on the said body Witnesses: for engagement by the buttonholes of the MA THEW UNGER,
