* tini'rn snares lea DAVIS I/IARINSKY, OF NEH/V YORK, 31'. Y.
MEANS FOR CREASZNG THE LEGS 0i? TROUSERS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 18, 1909. Serial No. 533,765.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVIS hlARINSKY, a citizen of the United States, and residing at New York. in the county of New York and fitate oi? New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Means for creasing the Legs of Trousers, of which the following a specification, such as will onablethos skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to means or devices for use in creasing the legs of trousers and it lowing specification, of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in \vhich;-.-
Figure l is a front view of av pair of trousers, the legs of which are provided with myimprovcd creasing device or devices, the front part of one of said legs being broken away; Fig. 2 a partial transverse section of the front of one of the trouser legs talzen on the line ILU of Fig. l, and on an enlarged scale; Fig. 3 a view similar to Fig. 2, but showing a modification Fig. 4 a View similar to Figs. 2 and 3 and showing another modification; Fig. 5 a front view of the creasing strip which I employ; Fig, 6 an end view of said strip; Fig. 7 a view similar to Fig. 5 but showing a modification; Fig. 8 an end of the strip shown. in Fig. 7 3 Fig. 9 a
view similar to Fig. 5 but'showing another modification, and; Fig. 10 an end View of a strip shown in Fig. 9.
In the drawing forming part of this speci fication I have shown at a a pair of trousers, the legs a of which are provided with my improved'creasing strip Z).
The creasing strip 13, as shown in. Figs-1,
2, fiand 6 is composed of a narrowstripo1 fabric, provided centrally oi the front side with a longitudinal head 6 and said head as shown in Figs. 2, 5 and 6 is formed by folding said strip centrally and longitudinally and stitching it parallel with the fold-- ed edge as shown at 6 front side of the strip Z) IS gummed in any In practice 1 the desired way, or a thin strip of gum material, is placed between it and the trouser leg, and a hot iron is passed over said strip, and this operation secures the strip 1) to the tronst! t The leg, as will he readily understood. trouser leg isthen folded longitudinally and centrally of the front thereof and around the head if. and is pressed in the usual. man.- nor to form the usual crease, arid the head 5 retains the trouser leg in its creased form 5 and a repressing thereof or a recreasing thereoi' isnot necessary except at long in tervals.
In Figs. 3, I and 8 I have shown another. method of forming the head 5 which com sists in folding the strip 5 around a cord 3 which 18 arranged centrally and longitudia nally thereof and stitching the folded strip inwardly of said cord, as shown at 6 in Fig.- 8. This operation forms the bead shown in Figs. 2, 5 and 6, and the head will retain the trouser leg 4 in a creased condition much, longer than other means, or method of openation now in use.
in Figs. l. 9 and 10 l have shown another method of forming the head 31 which con.- sistsi'n passingacord b cei'itrally-and longi tudinally of, and hack and forth through the strip 6, or by stitching said cord throngh said strip as clearly shown in 9, after 35 which the strip 71 is folded centrally and longitudinally as shown in Fig. i and the cord 5 forms the head I 1n the construction shown in Figs. 3 and 4, and in Figs. 7 to 10 inclusive, the creasing strip 6 is secured to the trouser leg in the manner as with the construction shown? in Figs. .1 and 2 and the result will he the My invention is not limited to the use of" Patented Dec. 27, 1910.
that the said strip he rovided centrally and 09 longitudinally with a cad around which the trouser legs are folded in the operation of pressing and creasing the same, and that said strip be secured in the trouser legs. in the manner shown and described.
Havin g folly descrihe dmy invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is;- v
1. A pair of trouser legs, the front of which-are provided on the inner sides thereof and longitudinally thereof With creasing strips,- consisting of flexible material and having a cord secured thereto longitudinally thereof and forming a longitudinal bead. v 2. A pair of trousers, the legs of Which are l ovided on the inner sides thereof and longitudinally thereof with creasingfstrips consisting of fabric material, said creasing I strips having a central longitudinal bead. on
/ the outer side thereof oirer and arbund which my invention I have signed my name in presence of the subscribing Witnesses this 17th .day of December 1909.
DAVIS MARINSKY.
