AMOS B. KREBS, BOLIVAJR, PENNSYLVANIA.
CLOTHES-PROTECTOR.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Apr. 2d, 1915.
Application filed February 3, 1912. Serial No. 675,240.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AMos B. Knees, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bolivar, in the county of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new,
and useful Improvements in Clothes-Protectors, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to the class of clothes protectors and aims to provide a protector in the form of a receptacle which may be easily manufactured and placed upon the market at a very small cost.
With the above and other objects in view my invention relates to such details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and specifically pointed out in the appending claims.
In describing my invention in detail reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts through the several views and in which Figure 1 is-a front view of one form of my invention. Fig. 2 is a detail sectional view illustrating the fold at the side edges thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view illustrating the hanger within the device. Fig. 4 is an enlarged detail view illustrating clasp employed in the various forms. Fig.
Sis a front view illustrating the upper por- I tion of a modified form of device. Fig. 6 is a front view illustrating still another modified form of device, pafrtly broken away. Fig. 7 is a detail sectional'view illustrating the fold at the open edges of the device of Fig. 6.
In the accompanying drawings which fully illustrate the preferred form of my invention, together with different modified forms of the same, the body portion comprises the sections 1 and 2, the said sections being pasted togetl'ier at their upper and lower ends as shown at3. The sides of the sections 1 and 2 are again folded as at 5, whereby a perfect air tight joint is bad. For the purpose of hold; ing the ends in place as shown I provide the clips (3 the construction of which is well known. The clips (5 are connected together like the forms above,
folded as shown at 4 and by the ribbon 8 for obvious purposes, however, I do not limit myself to this specific construction.
For the purpose of supporting the clothes between the sections 1 and 2 I provide a strip which strip is held in place by means of the tops of the sections, they being securely pasted together. Connected to the lower end of the strip 9 is a cross arm 10 in the form of. a coat hanger, however, I do not limit myself to this. It will now be readily seen that the clips G-may be removed from the sides of my invention and different pieces of clothing, such as furs and the like inserted between the sections. After the clips have been again secured in place as shown dust and germs of all kinds cannot enter between the sections thereby preserving the clothing.
In Fig. 5 I have illustrated a modified form of my invention. In this form I only provide the clips 6 in one side of the sections 1 and 2, the other sides being pasted together and folded as shown at 11.
In Fig. 6 I have again illustrated a modified form of my invention. In this figure I provide only one section of material which section is bent intermediate its ends as shown at 12, the ends meeting in the rear and bein folded as shown at'13. The bottom of the section is folded as shown at 14:, whereby, germs of all kinds are prevented from entering between the sections.
I desire it to be understood that I may make slight changes in the construction of the preferred and modified forms of my invention without departing from the spirit thereof, provided, however, such changes fall within scope of the subjoined claims.
Having thus fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire, to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a device of the character described, sections of material having their upper and lower ends secured together. the sides of said sections 'being folded to close the device, ('lasps engaging said folded portions, means connecting said clasps together. means-connected to said last named means adapted to extend between said sections, and a coat connected to said ribbon and extending be- 10 hanger supported by said last named means tween said sections, and a coat hanger supfor the purpose described. ported by said strip for the purpose set -2. In afdevice of the character described, forth. I 5 sections o material having their upper and lower ends secured together the sides of said AMOS KREBS' sections beingfolded to close the device, Witnesses: claspsengaging said folded portions, a rib- CHAS. M. JOHNSTON,
bon connecting said clasps together, a strip \IVINNIE M. KREBS.
