HERMANN HELDT, OF GELSENKIRCHEN, GERMANY.
ROSE FOR SHOVVER-BATHS.
To all whom it may concern."
Be it known that I, HERMANN HELDT, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, residing at Gelsenkirchen, in vestphalia, in the German Empire, have invented new and useful Improvements in Roses for Shower- Baths, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a rose for shower baths and consists in the provision of a casing having a nozzle in which the perforated plate can be inserted and secured by means of a screw passed through its center.
The object of this arrangement is to prevent a lateral or rearward splashing` of the water, which often occurs in roses having a plate which is screwed over the nozzle. The improved rose is further provided with two superposed, arched strainers adapted to conduct impurities to the sides so as to prevent a clogging-up of the same.
A further advantage is that the rose, which is of a very simple construction, may be made of malleable casting instead of the usually employed brass or copper, thereby reducing the cost of production.
In the annexed drawing' the invention is illustrated, Figure l representing a longitudinal section through the rose, Fig. 2, a horizontal section of the same along line -B of Fig. l, Fig. 8, a side view of the same, Fig. 4, a top view of the same, and Fig. 5, a view of the perforated plate.
The casing c is provided at the upper end Specicaton of Letters Patent.

with an internal screw thread and is formed into a nut a by means of which it can be screwed to the piping. Lateral passages b are provided for the water, and the nozzle of the casing is formed into a shouldered socket into which the perforated plate g, tgetherwith a washer f and two superposed strainers Z and e, are adapted to be inserted. The latter elements are secured in the socket by meansv of a screw-threaded bolt 7L which is passed into the body of the casing.
The strainers Z and e are arched so that impurities, carried along by the water and retained by the strainers, are conducted to the sides, so that a clogging-up of the strainers is prevented. As the perforated plate is embraced by the nozzle of the casing, lateral splashing of the water is obviated.
I claim A rose for shower baths, comprising in combination, a casing having lateral passages for the water and a nozzle formed into a shouldered socket, and two superposed, arched strainers and a perforated plate fitted in said socket and secured thereto by means of a screw-threaded bolt passed through a central aperture in the plate and screwed into the body of the casing, substantially as set forth.
HERMANN HELDT.
