TOOTH-BRUSH HOLDER.

Be it known that I, ERNEST L. SMITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bradford, in the county of McKean and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Tooth-Brush Holder, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has relation to tooth brush holders and is designed to promote the sanitary handling of tooth brushes when the same are not 1n use; and is further designed to provide a means whereby the brush may be retained in a position that will readily facilitate the drying of the bristles.
The objects of this invention are to construct a holder of this type and character which will be suitable to all sizes of brushes, and which will be of a naturethat will permit the cleansing of the holding members.
With the above and other ob ects in view, this invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts all as hereinafter fully described, specifically claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein,

Fig. 3 is a similar view of a modification thereof showing a form whereby the metal supporting member may be removed and cleaned. Fig. 4 is a front elevation of said modification.
The tooth brush holder forming the subject matter of this invention comprises a strap metal bracket secured to the wall having removably attached thereto a pair of parallel transverse glass rods between which the brushes are held.
The bracket 1 comprises a sheet metal band bent transversely so as to form a pair of transversely disposed loops 2 and is riveted adjacent the inner one of the loops, thus forming a spring which will bear against the rods 3 contained therein. The extremities of this band 1 are bent laterally forming lugs 4 pierced by the centrally disposed orifices 5 to supply a means whereby the bracket may be-secured to the wall.

Removably carried in the loops 2 are the glass rods 30f such a construction that the same are of a smooth configuration throughout their entire length, and are held in spaced parallel relation by the said loops. Should these rods become at any time soiled or in an unsanitary condition, they may be removed from the said loops and cleaned in any suitable manner.
The modification of the bracket shown in Figs. 3 and 4., comprises a bracket similarly formed to that appearing in Fig. 1 with the exception that the outer extremities 4: are bent in like direction, and are of a wedge formation, being constructed without the centrally disposed orifices 5. These ends, indicated as 4:, are adapted to be received in the wedge formed socket 6 secured to the wall thus making it possible to remove the same whenever it is desired to clean the same.
From the foregoing it will be understood that the bars 3 being constructed of a nonabsorbent and non-corrosive material, will provide a sanitary support for the brushes interposed therebetween, the bristles thereof resting on the said bars. Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by U. S. Letters Patent is A device of the class described including 'a bracket fashioned from a horizontally disposed, fiat strip of metal, bent upon itself to form arms, the ends of the arms being bent into a vertical plane and adapted for connection with a support, the arms being spaced apart and concaved toward each other at the outer bend and at a point suitably spaced therefrom, to define parallel sockets, and secured together intermediate the sockets and the bent ends, and straight rods secured in said sockets.
