,HENRY REBEL, or NEW YORK, N. Y.
CURTAIN-Fixrunn.
VTo LIZ whom it may concern: y
Be it known that I, HENRY Runnin., a citizen ofthe United States7 and a resident ofl the city of New York, borough ofiManhattan, in the county and State ofNew York, have inventedl a. new and Improved Curtain-FiXture, of'which the following is afull, clear, and exact description.
IThe invention relates to curtain'holdersused for vestibule doors, windows and .the like, and such as shown, for instance, inthe Letters Patent of the' United States, No. 891,622, granted to "John Kroder, June 23, 1908. i i
The object of the invention iste-provide a new and improved cnrtainyfixture ar'- ranged to permit convenient attachment-to 7 tain is preferably made of telescopiiig sec-` the door or window, `forattaching the curtain-supporting member in position on the keepers fixed oii the door or-wind'ow, and for removing the said members from the keepers with a View of placing the curtain in position or-reiiioving rit therefrom.
For the purpose mentioned, use is made of a curtain-supporting member and keepers for receiving the terminals of the said member, the `keepers being provided with means for pressing said terminals to clamp the saine in positi n in the keepers.
A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in
which similar charaetersof reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure l is a perspective view of the iniprovenient as applied; Fig. 2 is an enlarged perspective view of one of the keepers; Fig. 3 is an enlarged cross section of the fixture at one of the keepers; and Fig. et is a see-` tional plan view of the same,
The supporting inemberA for the curtions A, A2, having angular end portions A3, A4 provided with flanges B, B for sliding engagement with keepers C, C fastened by screws D to a support E, such as a door or window.
' Each keeper C, C is preferably formed from a single piece of metal bent to provide a back C2 and giiideways C3v at the V Y sides, for the sides ofthe flanges B, B to ."slide in, from the open top in .a downward \,Clii"ection, to engagel the flange B or Bv with 'the corresponding guideway, the downward 5 movement of the flange B or B being limited by a bottoinQ4 formed on each keeper.
Application filed October 25,1909. Serial No'. 524,374.'

press thefrear facev of' the corresponding flange or B so aste clampiiigly engage this flange with tlieguideways C3, to se cu'rely/Vliold the ilaiige in position in the keeper. As shown in Fig. 2, the spring tonguesv C extend. forwardly, approximately parallel with the guideways C3, and the upper corners@ of the flanges C5 are bent` rearwardly, to permit of guiding the flange B or B into position when inserting the `flanges B, B in the keepers C, C.
`In using the curtain fixture, the keepers C and C are secured to the support E by pass through apertures Q7 iii the back C2, to screw in the support E, as plainly indicated iii Fig. 3, and the curtain is. placed on the section AK Vof the curtain support A, after which the other section A2 is telescoped with the section A, and then the Hanges B and B are inserted in the keepers C, C from the top thereof', and pressed downward to engage the spring tongues C5, which then press the flanges B, B against the-corresponding guideways C13 to lockthe flanges B, B in place in the,
keepers C, C. By reference to Fig. 1, it will be noticed that when the'flangcs B, B are in position in the keepers C C, the attaching screws D are completelyhidden provided for `the flanges B, B, to securely hold the iixture in place, and to properly support the curtain in position. lVlien it is desired to remove tliesupporting member A and the curtain held thereon, it isy only necessary for the operator to take hold of the ends A3, A4 and push the same upward to disengjagethe flanges B, B from the keepers Tliecurtaiii fixture shown and described is very simple in construction, ornamental 11i appearanceaiid arranged for convenient and quick attachment to the door or window. Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
l. A curtain' fixture, comprising a curtain supporting member having an angular dat. plate flange at the end and a keeper tor attachment to a'. support and formed 'of' a single piece. of sheet. metal lient to form a back, guidewaysat the sides tor the said plate flange to slide iii, a bottom tior limiting' the downward iiioveiiient ot" the plate lll Hange, and a pair of spring tongues struck up from the said back and extending for- Wardly to engage and press the rear face of the said flat plate flange and clamp the same in position in the guideways.
p 2. A curtain Xture, comprising a curtain supportmg member having an angular flat lplate iange at the end and a keeper for attachment to a support and formed of a single piece'of sheet metal bentto form a back, 'uideways at the sides for the 'said plate ange to slide in, a bottom Jfor limiting the downward movement of the plate flange, anda pair of spring tongues struck up from the saidlback and extending for HENRY REUBEL.
