Patented Jul 123, 153' #3 Application filed December 2'7, 1908. Serial No. 535,120.
,To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, En os Jormson, e citizen of the Unitedfltates of .iiinerico, residing at Pittshurg, in the county of Allegheny and State ott limnsylvuniu, have invented certain new and useful. Improvements in Cuspidors, of which the following is a speci ficotion, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to cuspidors, and the primary object of my invention is to provide a cuspidor that will not easily upset and spill the contents thereof when tilted or jarred.
Anotherohjcct of this invention is to iurnish 2L cuspidor with novel means for retaining; the contents tliiereof Within the cuspidor even though the cuspidor is com.- pletely upset or inverted.
A further object of this invention is ltt rnish c'uspidor with disinfectant or doodoriint for maintaining the cuspidor in sanitary condition,
A still further object of this invention is to provide a cuspidor that can be easily and quickly cleaned, the cuspidoi consisting oi comparatively few parts simple in construc tion and easy to assemble,
With these and such other objects in view may hereinafter appear, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts "to he hereinafter specifically described and then claimed.
Reference Will now he had to the drawing forming part of this specification, "wherein there is illustrated the preferred eiiiloodiment of my intention, but it is to be understood that the structural elements thereof can be varied or changed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawinf s :-Figure 'l an elevation of the cuspidor, and Fig. 2 is a verticz l cross sectional View of the some.
Weighted bottom of the bowl or receptacle,
' The cylindrical threaded end of the membcr 6 is of a greater depti than the neck 2 and is adapted to extend above the neck, to
of vertical openings 18 and the inner wall 9 with a plurality of circun'ifercntizilly ranged openings 14%, the latter opcningsoe ing arranged opposite the oi the outer wall 8 whereby they Will communicate with the coninsrtnient adopted to conturpentine or diluted cerbolic acid held in suspension by a material placed within. the compartment, us felt or Wool. This material can be easily packed in the compartment when the iunncl-shuped mouthpiece is rcmoved, and it can be then sntui'ul'ed with the disinij'cctnnt or deodorant, either when the mouth-piece removed or by injecting the liquid through the openings 1 hese openings 13 in coi'ijuuction with the openings 14; are supted to allow the odor from the deodorant to escape, while matter passing over the inner wall 0 will enter some of the openings 14.- zmd contact with the disinfer-tent. As cuspidors are often moved and jarred, the contents thereof will also be brought into contact with. the disinfectant and through the medium of the material Within the compurtnmst lo the cuspidor will be maintained in :1 sanitary condition.
it is obvious that when the cuspidor is accidentally upset that the space between the member 6 and the wells of the receptacle 1 provides an annular compartment .epod n'iouth. piece,
