Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 17, 1910.
Application filed September 1'7, 1909. Serial No. 518,264.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, TORKILD BOESON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Grayliiw, in the county of Crawford and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hose-Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to an improvement in hose holders, one object being the provi sion of a neat and inexpensive, as well as durable hose holder, which is applicable more particularly to garden hose used for sprinkling walks and lawns.
Another object is the provision of a hose support which is light and can easily be carried from place to place.
A still further object is the provision of a hose holder adapted to support a hose at various angles.
To these and other ends, my invention consist-s in certain novel features which will be more fully described hereinafter and particularly pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of the holder, showing one position of the hose; Fig. 2 is a side view of the upper part of the holder, showing two positlons of the hose. When the hose is in the position E it will deliver a vertical stream, and when in the position F it will deliver a stream at any angle up to the vertical.
Fig. 3 is a front View of the upper part of the holder.
Referring to the drawings, A indicates the body or standard, which is formed of a metal rod; B indicates the legs arranged in the form of a tripod, which are integral with the standard, each provided with a prong C, which, when forced into the ground, revents the liability of upsetting the hol er; D, D, indicate two palrs of forked or U- shaped arms, which are integral with the standard, one of said pair of arms being vertical and the other pair being substantially horizontal, each pair being wider at its innor and outer extremities than in the center, so that when the hose is forced into the lower part of the opening D as shown in Fig. 2, it is securely held 1n place.
Having thus fully disclosed my invention, what I claim as new, is
A hose holder comprising a standard, the standard provided with three legs, each leg being provided with a prong, two pairs of forked arms integral with the standard, one
of said pairs being vertical and the other being arranged substantially horizontal, each pair of arms being narrower in the center than at its inner and outer extremities.
In testimony whereof, I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
TORKILD BOESON.
