To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, FRANK E. I'ltUDL PHREY and FRANK H. PATRICK, citizens of the United States, residing at St. Johnsbury, in the county of Caledonia, State of Verinont, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shutter-Bowers, of which the following is a description, reference being had to'the accompanying drawing and .10 the letters of reference niarked thereon.

f Our invention relates to improvements in swinging outside windows, operating the same, and'locking thorn in their closed posidow casing which may he of any usual or well known construction, and B is a swinging outside casement window. Screwed to each side of the window using at the lower part, are brackets G in which are pivoted one end of slotted bars I), through the slots in which pass headed screw threaded bolts.

The two bars D, and G, form a sort of Specification of Letters Patent.

the window can be held to any position to which. it may be adjusted.

As a. vnieans for locking the window in closed position, a, curved lateral shoulderg is prorided on the slotted bar D, and pivoted to the bar G is catch it which can be swung around over the shoulder g, and thus lock the window in closed position, as shown clearly in Fig. l.

The angle piece 7 has its pivotal opening for the bar it formed with a transverse slot and the pivot 2' has a key projection adapted to lit into said slot for the insertion and removal of the har G as shown in Fig. 2.
