SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 309,813, dated December 23, 1884.

Be itknown that I, WILLIAM H. BoTHwE LL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Shutter-Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to bolts for locking shutters, Ste.
It consists in the combination, with the windowshutters and their bolt, of a compound bolt which engages with the aforesaid shutters and a keeper placed on the sill of the shutter-frame. The compound or double bolt, acting in conjunction with the usual shutterbolt, not only prevents the shutters from being lifted and nnhinged, but also keeps them from being pried open.
