FRAME-ADJUSTER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 8, 1910.
Application filed July 27, 1909. Serial No. 509,782.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN EHR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Portage, in the county of Columbia and State of lVisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Frame- Adjusters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable Others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to new and useful improvements in securing attachments for window construction and the like, and especially to that class utilized in connection with the permanent or temporary framework and it has for its object to provide a simple, inexpensive article of manufacture.
Referring to the accompanying drawings which form a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a vertical elevation of framework employed in window frame construction. Fig.2 is a horizontal elevation of my securing attachment.
Referring to the drawings in which similar reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, 1 indicates a standard to vwhich is attached my securing member 2, by any preferred means such as a nail 3 in order that the amb 4 may be held in plumb to the standard 1 when the frame is to be set up. It is to be understood that the securing member 2 is first attached to the construction which is to be set in place by any preferred means such as the threaded portion 5 of my securing member, said securing member being constructed of any preferred resilient metal and extending longitudinally from the threaded portion 5 for any preferred length, at which point it is bent in a curve 6 outwardly and downwardly into a horizontal portion 7 integral with the curve 6 and parallel to the threaded portion in its length, said horizontal portion 7 is bent at right angles to the threaded portion to form a compound loop 8, said loop providing a means for securing the horizontal portion 7 to the threaded portion 5 and acting as a reinforcement for said device.
It will be seen that in employing my securing device for setting up framework in doors, windows and the like, I have provided a means of securing the framework of such construction in a rigid and exact manner.
What I claim is:
1. The herein described device comprising an elongated metal body having a threaded portion, said threaded portion having a curved portion, said curved portion terminating in a horizontal portion integral with said curved portion and parallel in its length to said threaded portion, said horizontal portion having a compound loop at its terminal adapted to engage said threaded portion.
2. An article of manufacture comprising the herein described device consisting of a metallic strand of wire, having a threaded portion terminating in a curved portion, said curved portion having a horizontal extended portion integral therewith, said hori' zontal extension being parallel to and spaced apart from the threaded portion, thereby providing an opening for the insertion of a securing means, said horizontal portion be ing looped at its terminal.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
CHRISTIAN EI-IR.
